News Update: September 2007 Vesper is proud to announce: ...With Autumn I Fell... will OFFICIALLY be released on Saturday September 22nd, 2007 (the eve of the first day of Autumn). Vesper will be celebrating the release of their debut full-length CD with a special live performance at Arlene's Grocery in New York City. Details can be found on the concerts page. Come join Vesper for this special occasion!
News Update: October 8th 2007 Vesper will be performing at the Village Underground on Friday, August 12th for the famous John Lennon Songwriting Contest live music series! Still waiting for performance details (time, cover charge, etc - not even sure if it's open to the public?). Also, the band will be at Luna Lounge in Williamsburg later this month for a show with the Assault and God Fires Man- check out the Concerts page for details. More news to come, and hopefully a new official website by the holidays!
News Update: November 2007 The band will be taking a few weeks off from shows while drummer Felice wanders around the Italian countryside - but make no mistake, new events are still happening. First, those in the Brooklyn area should keep an eye out for the November issue of Greenline - North Brooklyn News, for Miriam Beyer's feature story on the band. This wonderful article will feature a review of the debut album, bits of interview with the band and a review of their recent performance at the Luna Lounge in Williamsburg. The article will also be available online (and the link will be posted on our press page at the time of its publication). The next scheduled Vesper show is December 20th at Club Europa in Greenpoint, Brooklyn - the band is organizing this event as a neighborhood celebration featuring all local Greenpoint bands. The event will be open to audiences 18+, and possibly feature an open mic among other goodies. A perfect show to end the year with! More details will be posted in the coming weeks. Last, the debut album ...With Autumn I Fell... is now available at all sorts of online retailers - iTunes, CDBaby.com, Digstation.com, CDUniverse.com, and Rhapsody, among others. We hope to get a physical retailer for the album in NYC in time for the holidays, but in the meantime our merch page has a good selection of where to find the album. Also in the works is the first Vesper music video, and a brand new, specially re-designed Vesper uber-website...let's hope the holiday fairies allow free time for the careful construction of both.
News Update: Mid-November 2007 The Greenline article is up - a big thanks to Miriam Beyer and everyone at North Brooklyn News for their talent and professionalism! A show on November 24th has been added to the Vesper calendar at the Granville Forum, for their second official "Rock N Roll Ball" hosted by Rabbits on Trampolines. Word is that the first Ball was a smashing success and alot of fun, so don't miss this one! The show is all-ages and only 20 minutes from Glens Falls, NY - so kiddies, get your parents to give you a lift! They can can grab some food at the excellent attached restaurant while you rock out, post-?turkey-style. Directions are on the Concerts page. The "Greenpoint Local Music Showcase" on December 20th at Club Europa is shaping up nicely - final line-up will be announced soon!
News Update: December 2007 Well, here we are, at our 2007 wrap-up already. What a year! First, Vesper enjoyed a fun show with Rabbits on Trampolines last month in Granville, NY. Be sure to check out the March 2nd show at the Knitting Factory, when the band will once again share the stage with Rabbits, along with Saratoga's Skeletons in the Piano and New York's Dudes of Doom. Skeletons, Rabbits, Dudes and Vesper - who would want to miss that show?! Don't forget, this show is up in the Tap Room at the KF, so show up on time to get a good spot and enjoy some lovely brews! December was a busy month of shows, beginning with a short set at Arlene's Grocery for their Amateur Female Jello Wrestling night. Due to past jello-related trauma, Katie was not able to participate, but what an experience - if anyone wants a truly unique Sunday night experience, go check out this monthly event. No disappointments! Finally, the Greenpoint Local Music Showcase at Club Europa on Thursday the 20th was a great success, thanks in no small part to the great talent of the other bands that played - Abraham Van, Hello Tokyo, APPLE and Aloke. It was really nice to experience the diversity and talent that Vesper's home neighborhood has to offer. Keep your ears open for the next Showcase in a few months. As of right now the first two months of '08 look a little quiet - the band may use the time for writing and possibly some out-of-town gigs. Upstate folks can catch Vesper again at the Parting Glass in April, at which time they will be filming for their first music video - don't miss your chance to be a pretty face in the crowd for this shoot'n'show! We'll keep you posted on early spring show dates in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out our Greenpoint Courier article on the Press page! From the band, in closing: "2007 was a great big wonderful year for Vesper. First and foremost, we released our debut album, and have gratefully received only positive feedback from press and audiences alike. This was a tremendous labor of love, and to get this sort of positive encouragement is the greatest gift we as a band have received this year. We promise to keep pushing ourselves towards the creation of new, innovative, and breathtaking music, to the best of our abilities - and we hope that everyone out there keeps listening and reacting! We've come a long way in the last twelve months, and look forward to 2008 being filled with excitement and adventure. We want to thank each and every person who came out to our shows or picked up an album this year - in the end, it is our friends and audience, both old and new, who make the musical journey so wonderful. We hope you all have a safe and happy New Year - we'll see you all soon! ~Aaron, Katie & Felice"
